About this opportunity  

Within this context, the Corporate Coverage team in the Nordics is seeking highly motivated candidates interested in the financial markets with a drive to work in a highly dynamic, meritocratic and rewarding workplace. The Copenhagen-based internship offers an opportunity to work in both a global and local context supporting top Nordic corporates navigating the financial markets. 

Main scope of the role 

The Corporate Coverage internship offers 6 months experience within our fast growing client facing team, covering relationships with Nordic corporates (large- and mid-cap, high growth/start-up and family office/privately owned companies). The internship is full-time or part time (50%) for 1 year and would give you an immense opportunity to learn about a variety of products, clients and markets, as a compliment to your studies.

What you will do   

  • Support the Head of Coverage, Directors and VPs in identifying, developing and managing corporate relationships. Specifically you will: 
    • Take the lead in the Know Your Customer (KYC) process ensuring KYC is in place and up to date
    • Support in the management of the credit process to ensure all Annual Reviews and transaction requests are processed in a timely manner
    • Maintain databases and client data monitoring
    • Undertake research on prospect clients/industries
    • Prepare tailored pitch books and marketing material for client presentations

    • Proficient with MS Office tools, including Excel (any additional computer skills/coding are an advantage)
    • Excellent spoken and written English and fluency in at least one Nordic language

About this opportunity

As Relationship Manager you will be responsible for your own portfolio of existing and new clients, primarily covering Nordic corporates and Strategic Business Groups. In this role you play an important part in the process of the services provided to our clients. 

In the role as Relationship Manager, you will work closely with our dedicated local teams in Client Service Desk, and Risk, with direct reference to the Head of Client Relations.

Although you will be part of the local team in Glostrup, this position will also require you to work with teams across the organization, primarily in Northern Europe. Communication both internally and externally is in English/Danish, but the ability to understand both Swedish and Norwegian is an advantage.

It should be noted that we are considering relocating to the City Center of Copenhagen during 2025 together with other BNP Paribas Group entities.

What you will do
 

  • Maintain and develop an existing portfolio of clients from a commercial perspective.
  • Front BNPPF towards the clients and servicing the clients in compliance with BNPPF’s procedures and guidelines.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities within your client portfolio.
  • Perform client business reviews in a timely manner, including your assessment of the suitability of the offered product.
  • Negotiate and draft legal documentation (mainly based on standard documentation).
  • Assessment of the overall risk of each relationship on an ongoing basis and report warning signals to decision makers.
  • Responsible for the performed compliance checks.
  • Participate in relevant credit committees and if needed represent business as decision taker according to delegation letter.
  • Assist the Head of Client Relation, including participation in the development of the Client Relations department.
  • Participate in development of new local procedures and implementation of group procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across the BNP Paribas Bank organization as well as other BNPP factoring entities.

Background and competences

Required qualifications:

  • M.Sc. degree in Finance, Business or another relevant field
  • Proven track record in the role as Relationship Manager in the financial industry
  • Proficient in working with MS Office, esp. MS Word and Excel
  • Good presentation, reporting and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and Scandinavian language
